Why should 'designer babies' exist?

If less and less people carried genetic diseases, their children and their children will be free of the possibly life-threatening disease. Much later generations will also never have to face genetic diseases or hereditary disorders. Within a few hundred years, the world may be rid of cancer or cystic fibrosis, etc.

Why should I care?

Designer babies reduce inherited medical conditions. Designer babies can reduce the baby's chance of vision problems, allergies, diabetes, cancer, and more. Again, "throwing out the bad genes" allow the baby to live their life without inherited conditions holding them back.

Designer babies open the door to many possibilities and future advancements. This process creates a better understanding of genetics for genealogists, biologists, and scientists everywhere.

Designer babies prevent genetic diseases in the baby. Doctors are only introducing the "clean" embryos into the woman's womb. With designer babies, parents with hereditary diseases are able to have children knowing that they will not pass down the same genetic disease, therefore eventually getting rid of the disease in future generations as well. Some diseases are down syndrome, Turner syndrome, Tay–Sachs disease, Huntington's, Alzheimer’s, Haemophilia, and many, many more.

With less people infected with diseases, health care costs will greatly reduce in price. Because not as many people are susceptible to diseases, not as many people will need medical assistance. With less medical assistance, there will be a lessening need for health care, doctors/nurses, and hospitals.

If people are not spending as much money on health care and medical insurance, the government can spend its money on more econimally beneficial activities.
